UEA votes on last, best offer from UMD

UMD presented the University Education Association with its last, best and final offer, and voting on the contract started last week. The vote was scheduled to finish at noon on Monday; keep checking back for the latest.
“Whether it’s up or down, of course, as the last, best and final, the contract will be imposed on us,” said Liz Wright, president of the union.
Wright said members are concerned about the contract. “People do want to do their part in terms of taking a salary reduction, there’s a strong consensus around that,” she said.
“The biggest concerns is still the incredible lack of regard for term faculty and any protections for them. The university did come through with a couple of changes, but they are token at best regarding term faculty,” Wright said.
