Grocery workers see increased pay

Cub Foods, Jerry’s, Kowalski’s, and Super One have made the decision to acknowledge union members’ tireless work in keeping stores stocked, clean and running well during the COVID-19 crisis with a $2/hour increase and in some cases increasing overtime rates.

“Union Grocery Retailers in the Twin Cities Metro area and Duluth have been on the front lines of the COVID-19 outbreak. Cashiers, meat cutters, stockers, utility and courtesy employees, pharmacy techs, clerks, and more are tirelessly working to make sure that people in their communities have the products they need,” UFCW 1189 said on its website.
